Spring Berries Breakfast

Happy Tuesday Everyone!
Today’s post is really quick before I rush off to work. 
I think that breakfast is one of my favorite meals. 
It always seems so fresh to me. 
You can do whatever you want to do, make it sweet, savory, doughy, crunchy, hot, or cold… really anything! 
With the warmer weather lingering around (not quite warm yet but it’s teasing us Chicagoans) I have switched my breakfast from hot to cold. Nothing is as refreshing as a bowl of cereal with cold soy milk (or milk), or an icey breakfast smoothie. Today Great Grains cereal was really calling my name. As I mentioned in my Spring in-season foods post, strawberries and raspberries are in season! That means they are tasting quite fantastic right now! (don’t mind the blueberries and bananas… I couldn’t help it, they were on sale surprisingly!! weird? still doesn’t mean I should have purchased them though.. oops!) Topped with chia seeds and a hearty helping of Maranatha almond butter. Add a side of iced coffee and you’ve got yourself a delicious breakfast. 

The straw looks super quirky doesn’t it? I just noticed!

    I have to say, it's not warm enough it Chi-town for me to crave cold breakfasts although I am craving a lot more raw veggie salads for lunch and dinner 🙂
