Ethan and I have started organizing venue visits, and have seen two absolutely beautiful sites. How can we possibly choose, when our options are so amazing!

First up, Chebeague Island Inn off of the coast of Portland:

The small inn is absolutely beautiful, set atop a beautiful rolling hill over looking the ocean, own and run by the sweetest family. We would be lucky to have our wedding here! A few cons: the lobby is not updated, guest capacity is limited, and organizing rental houses and ferries is overwhelming to us.

Next up, French’s Point:

This estate property is absolutely stunning set atop a cliff with panoramic views of the ocean. Beautiful function space on the main floor of the mansion with a beautiful hardwood wraparound bar. The staff is extremely professional and caring, and has an onsite planner. The estate has a newly renovated farmhouse for family to stay, and a beautiful beach for a rehearsal dinner lobster bake. The cons: price (a bit expensive and over budget), location (kind of out in the middle of no where), and again organizing home rentals for our guests.

Our vision is to really have an elegant New England wedding, with all of our guests onsite for a 3 day weekend. We want the classic New England Inn feel, with great food, and a picturesque location. From the looks of it, we’re getting close!

After a weekend full of site visits we made our way to Gus and Ruby Letterpress in Portsmouth, NH to work with the best of the best for our initial invitation planning meeting. I love our expert, Samantha who is co-owner of the shop. We made the connection that Sam is from the same area that I grew up outside of Boston, and her business partner is from the same town Ethan grew up! It is meant to be. We cannot wait to visit Sam at Gus and Ruby again!
